socks!

At long last, I own a pair of hand knit socks.
They are even better than I had imagined.
They feel sooooooooooo good on my feet!
I swapped these with Mama Urchin in exchange for quilting.
I LOVE them!!!!

Lucky you! Isn't bartering fun. One of these days I'll get a pair made (that I'm willing to wear).

Sweet! Sorry I've been missing in action commenting on all your recent amazing work. Always know that I am in the background cheering you on and appreciating all that you share.
Love the Bartering idea! Maybe someday we can exchange "stuff"!

Aren't they the best?! I have a pair that a Swedish grandma made for me when I lived there. I never really appreciated them until recently when I learned about the love that went into making them. What a treat for you! I have bought some yarn to make some for myself. Now I just need to learn how! Great job Mama Urchin.

These look great! I just got given another pair of socks knitted by a friend! It's true that nothing feels quite so great on your feet - apart from perhaps the warm water of the Mediterranean lapping round your toes!

Hand knit socks are the best! My mom has worn holes in the few pairs I made her, and still won't give them up! Great swap.

I recently taught myself to knit and then listed the links I used to help me along the way. For those interested, check them out at http://suzyqsparkle.blogspot.com/2009/01/knitting-links.html

I *love* my hand-knit pair and NEED to make some more!

Great socks. About the only time I knit socks is when I'm traveling to visit my kids that are scattered all over the country. I find it's hard to get the second one finished--too much of the same thing over and over. I think I might try knitting both at the same time next time;) BTW, I used the beanie pattern you referenced a few weeks back. WOW do they ever work up fast. As long as it's still snowing here I'll keep working on the beanies--maybe more socks come Spring;)

i saw those.....and LOVED the colorway!!!

Warm and comfy indeed. Trading, swapping, bartering - all very traditional and fits right in with quilting and hand crafts. Well done.
Cheers!

So, I see someone beat me to it. I am so glad you have a pair now. But one pair is not enough, never enough...

I just got my how-to-knit-socks book in the mail yesterday. I've always wanted a pair of hand-knit socks, so I thought I'd finally do it my self.

I love yours, and I hope you enjoy them for a long time.

Great job, Mama Urchin! Those look great. Nothing beats knit socks. I have a few pairs and love them so much, that I decided to teach myself. Just doing baby socks for now though. Great swap!
